Bitcoin

What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is a decentralised digital currency that runs on a public network with no bank or central issuer behind it. Supply is capped at 21 million coins, every transaction is recorded on a ledger anyone can audit, and no single company or government controls it. You can buy it, sell it, swap it for another coin, or hold it in a Paybis wallet.

Get started in four steps

You don't need an account to see the price. Enter an amount, choose how you want to pay, and the crypto is yours once the payment clears.

1

Choose what you want to buy

Pick your coin and the amount, then select how you want to pay — card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, bank transfer, or a local option like Pix, BLIK or SPEI.

credit_card
2

Pay with the method you already use

The rate locks the moment you confirm, so the amount of crypto you receive is fixed before the money leaves your account.

Your crypto lands in your wallet

Card and instant-bank payments usually clear and deliver within minutes. Standard bank transfers take one to two business days, depending on your bank and country.

4

Hold it, spend it or cash out

Keep it in your Paybis wallet, swap it for another asset, spend it with a card, or sell it straight back to your bank account.

How to buy Bitcoin with a card

The practical answers: what it costs, how long it takes, and what we ask you for.

There is no Paybis service fee on your first card purchase. After that, the service fee is shown upfront at checkout and varies by payment method — bank-based methods generally cost less than cards. Blockchain network fees are set by the network, not by us. The exact amount of crypto you'll receive is on screen before you confirm.

Card and instant bank payments are usually delivered within minutes of the payment clearing. A standard bank transfer takes one to two business days, depending on your bank and the country you're paying from.

For most purchases we ask for a government-issued photo ID and a short selfie check, which usually takes under two minutes. It's a one-time step. Low-risk users can buy and send up to $1,000 a year with simplified verification and no full KYC.

Both work, along with Apple Pay and Google Pay, at the same 3.5% fee. Some banks class a crypto purchase differently from a normal card payment and may decline it — if that happens, a bank transfer is the reliable fallback.

Anyone who wants to move between crypto and fiat money and wants the cost to be obvious before they commit. If you only ever trade crypto for crypto and never touch a bank, a dedicated exchange will suit you better than we will.

Yes. Paybis holds a MiCA crypto-asset service provider authorisation (27-55/2026/6) and a PSD2 payment institution licence (27-55/2026/7) in the EU, is registered as a money services business with FinCEN in the US (31000272911973) and with FINTRAC in Canada, and is PCI-DSS certified for card payments. Verified accounts buy in a couple of minutes with no extra paperwork, and low-risk users can buy and send up to $1,000 a year under simplified verification. Larger orders can go through the OTC desk directly.

Payout to Pix is genuinely instant, which is why I stay. But I've had two card payments declined for no clear reason and had to switch to a bank transfer to get the purchase done.
